Im not sure if my perm rods were too big or if it was the perm, itself. I have to wait two weeks now and perm again to get my desired curl. Anyway, I’ve always bought a more expensive brand only because it came up first in the search.
I will definitely be using this product again, and I hope you are satisfied with your results! Store in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not use if eyelashes are weak or brittle.
What Is Home Perm Kit & How to Use Them?
Choose a side to start with, and unravel the run. Create a vertical part, somewhere behind your ear, and wrap the front section of hair into a bun. Apply more rods horizontally in a vertical column, then do the front section of hair (the one that’s in front of your ears).

This was after we home permed our hair, because using regular hair rollers on a daily basis made the permed hair look better. You might have better luck if you are real good at doing the rollers while you put the perm in but most women don't have real good luck with home perms. Am I able to leave my cold rods in during the rising of the neutralizer and then let my hair air dry with the rods in? My thoughts are the longer the hair is on the rod, the tighter the curl structure will be.
Maintaining Your Perm
Women with highlights can choose to use a perm kit for dyed or colored hair. The second method, the digital perm, borrows the same two steps as the cold perm. It further applies heat to alter the structure of the hair. After allowing it to sit for a while, the hair is then rinsed and allowed to set. The procedure is finished off with a neutralizing solution. The chemical formulation determines how long the perm will last.

On my second attempt I coated the well, you could see the white lotion on my lashes. Do the same with the fixing cream in the next step. Very happy with the results – just a nice bit of soft body & wave.
Why are some hairs on my head thicker than others?
The first step is to gather the necessary supplies. You’ll need a perm kit, which can be purchased at most drugstores or beauty supply stores. The kit will include the actual perm solution, as well as rods, clips, and other necessary tools. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before starting, as each kit may be a little different. Built-in conditioners in every step ensure shine and soft results in less time.

Only the day before I used this, someone interrupted my conversation to compliment me in how shiny my hair was. I have a level 3 cert in hairdressing so I know how to perm but also read & followed the package instructions to the last letter. First home perm, I usually have it done every 6 months at the hairdresser.
Does a perm damage your hair?
Curly hair doesn’t need to be washed as often, for starters. Also, if you wash your hair too soon, you’ll undo all of your hair work; the curls will come out. Check your hair every few minutes for an S-shape when unraveled. Wait 5 minutes first, then pick a rod and unravel it slightly. Take a look at the hair, and see if you can spot a tight S-shape. If you still don’t see the S-shape, check it every minute afterwards until you do.
Hair follicles come in different shapes and sizes, affecting hair texture and width. Some people have wider follicles-and therefore, thicker hair strands-than other people. Genetics influence hair thickness, but other factors like hormones and age are important factors, too. One of the main culprits is product buildup. Failing to properly clean and moisturize your hair can keep it from having a smooth appearance and give your locks a weighed-down feel. Other causes of flyaway hair include chemical damage, dry strands, split ends, hair breakage, static, and humidity.
Then, with your finger or some other tool, wrap the hair around the rod, beginning at the wrapped end until you reach your roots. Apply the perm solution to your hair, using the instructions from the kit. By following these simple steps, you can perm your hair at home safely and effectively. There are many reasons why someone might want to perm their hair at home.
Leave the rollers on and run water through the hair. Short hair can be tricky to work with because of the length. A straight-to-curly hair perm can reduce length.
Remove the rods slowly and gently to prevent any tangles. Wear plastic gloves when you're working with perm chemicals. The chemical smell is pretty intense, so you might also want to crack a window.

This will avoid stress and breakage on your new curls. If you do not have time to let your hair air dry, attach a diffuser to the end of your hairdryer and blow dry your hair on low heat. Doing this should prevent the curls from straightening out. Also, you have to know how to do it correctly.
Use the comb to detangle and smooth this loose section of hair before you start dividing and wrapping it around the rods. Once you’ve purchased your kit, take a look at the instructions. It will tell you what to do and how much product to use. Make sure that you use enough product to saturate your hair. If you don’t have enough product, it’ll be hard to achieve the desired curl. Sandwich the end of a small section of hair between two perm papers.

Just be sure to take the necessary precautions to avoid damaging your hair. Leave the perm solution on your hair for the required amount of time. In general, if you’re thinking about perming your own hair, it’s a good idea to start with a smaller change rather than going for a big perm right away. This will give you a chance to see how your hair reacts to the perm, and if you need to make any adjustments. If you’re not happy with the results, you can always go back to a stylist for a more dramatic change. Keep in mind that bleaching and highlighting are not recommended.
